Rating: PG
Spoilers: This is my version of what the show "Ripper" might be like so Season 6 but AU after that.
Disclaimer: Giles is owned by Joss and his cohorts. I think his flat may be too. Everyone
else is mine to do with as I see fit. Don't worry. They all care about
Giles and won't hurt him, unless he wants them too.
Feedback: Sure why not. All flamers however will be boiled in their own Christmas pudding.
Note: This is my first ever fic. In fact my first story ever to escape from my brain. So
all suggestions will be considered. And maybe even used.

The next day, Giles decided to take Sarah shopping. Surprisingly, she argued with him about
that. "I'm not going to have you spend money on me, when we don't know how long I'm staying."
After bickering about it for several minutes, Giles finally convinced her to let him get her
at least the essentials, but had to give in when she insisted that he keep a tab, so she
could pay him back if she ever got any money. Being used to the shop-til-you-drop ways of
Buffy and her6 friends, Giles was surprised when they had finished in less than two hours, and
only two bags. Giles decided it was time for lunch. While they ere eating, he told her about
the haunting and Ian's theory about her.
"So, if you're up to it, we'd like for you to come with us."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sarah thought for a moment. "It's worth a try I guess. Don't know much about real ghosts, but
if you think I can help, okay. At the very least I can be your gofer." 'Not that you'd have
to convince me to spend time with you.' She thought and added a mental slap. 'Stop that. This
isn't one of your daydreams. He's a real person that you've only just met. Now is not the time
to be thinking about shagging like bunnies.' She was still having a difficult time dealing with
this strange turn of events, added to that was the dream she had. But it seemed as if they had
accepted her and were even willing to include her in their lives, something she wasn't used to
back home. "So what exactly is going on at this house we're going to. Maybe that will give me
some idea of what I can do to help."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day found them at a house near the most forbidding place Sarah had ever seen. Though
it looked like it was only a grassy open space, with a few bushes scattered around, rising up
to a plateau, Sarah felt as if there were eyes all around watching for her to make a mistake.
With a start, she realized that this was the Moor. 'No wonder so many ghost stories are set
here.' she thought and unconsciously moved a little closer to Giles, since she was sitting next
to him in the front seat of his car. It had been decided that she would ride with him, while
Wendy and Ian would follow in the van carrying their equipment. That had drawn a slight
protest from Wendy.
"I'd much rather ride with you, Rupert. Ian has a nasty habit of letting his hands wander."
"I thought ye liked Roman hands, lass." "Not when they're attached to a..."
Giles quickly put a stop to whatever she was going to say and quickly told them Sarah was
riding with him. Sarah could see that the other two were only joking, but thought there was a
touch of jealousy in Wendy's eyes whenever the other woman looked at her. It gave her something
to think about during the drive. They neared their destination and Sarah started to feel
uneasy. As they turned into the drive, that feeling turned to one of mild nausea. The house
that rose before them, like the Moor, seemed innocent enough, but Sarah could feel goosebumps
rising on her arms and the feeling of being watched grew stronger.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giles had intentionally put Sarah in the car with him so he could watch her reactions as they
approached the house. When she shifted towards him while they were nearing the house, he
wondered again if Ian was right. Maybe she was here to help them in their work. As they drew
closer to the house he saw her face go from pale to slightly green as she shivered.
"Are you okay?' he asked. She nodded and swallowed, but didn't say anything. "What are you
feeling?' He queried, curious as to whether she felt some of the same vibrations as he did
emanating from the house before them. She got a distant look in her eye and was silent for a
moment before she answered him.
"It's kinda like being around someone in pain. Even though you can't feel it yourself, you
know how bad they hurt. But I also feel like there's someone trying to make sure that pain
doesn't stop." Giles realized with a shock that she was going into some sort of trance as he
pulled up to front door and stopped the car. Concerned, he quick got out, went around to her
side and started shaking her by the shoulders gently.
"Sarah. Sarah!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sarah. Sarah!"
Giles was shaking her and calling her name when she suddenly came back to her senses. She felt
like she had awoken from a bad dream, but the uneasiness wouldn't leave her. Sarah blinked and
smiled shakily. "Sorry must have drifted off. Is this the place?"
Giles tried not to look concerned as he helped her from the car. "Yes it is. But you didn't
really need me to tell you that. What really happened?"
Sarah thought before she answered. "I'm not really sure. It was like something was talking to
me but I couldn't make out what it was saying." At that moment the van pulled up, and Wendy
and Ian got out. Ian took one look at Sarah and smiled.
"I told you the girl had it in her."
