Rating: PG-13

Disclaimer: Giles is owned by Joss and his cohorts. I think his flat may be too. Everyone
else is mine to do with as I see fit. Don't worry. They all care about Giles and
won't hurt him, unless he wants them too.

Feedback: Sure why not. All flamers however will be boiled in their own Christmas pudding.

Distribution: If you're crazy enough to want it, just let me know where.

Note: This is my first ever fic. In fact, my first story ever to escape from my brain. So all
suggestions will be considered. And maybe even used.

"Hello luv, it's Wendy. Give us a call when you get back. I might have something you'll find
interesting." *beep*

Giles smiled and thought 'I'll bet you have' and wondered if she meant that there was a case
also. Since his return to England after Buffy's death, he had been supporting himself by
investigating hauntings and even taking on the occasional exorcism. He dialed her back and
thought 'Maybe I should take her up on her offer of a date.'

After about 3 rings he got Wendy's machine. 'It's Rupert, dear, just got in and---what the
bloody hell!!" Just at that moment there was a flash and Giles saw a figure materialize out of
thin air. It landed with an "Eep" and a thud on his couch. He slammed the phone down and ran
to see what he might have to deal with picking up a sword that was leaning against the wall on
the way. Edging his way over to the couch, he peered over the back just as whoever it was sat
up. That produced another "eep" as he caught a flash of red hair and whoever it was dove back
down, pulling the blanket from the back of the couch with them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Her first thought when it happened was 'What the hell?!' It was supposed to be a simple
meditation. Maybe astral project to her brother's house. The next thing she knew, Sarah was
falling. She had landed on something soft at least. 'Well, I think I went somewhere.' Then
she heard someone shout "What the bloody hell!!" and thought 'That doesn't sound like my
brother.' That's when she also realized that her clothes hadn't made the trip with her. She
sat up and saw a man coming toward her with a large sword. "Eep!" she said and lay back down
pulling a blanket with her. "Ohmygodohmygod Oh MY God!' she thought when she realized who she
had seen. "Willow?" she heard the man say and that produced another round of 'oh my god's'.
This couldn't be real. He was only a TV character and yet here he was acting like it was for
real. She slowly peeked up over the couchback again to get a second look and, yup, there he
was looking at her with some confusion. "You're not Willow." He said as his brow furrowed even
further at the sight of a strange woman wrapped in a blanket on his sofa. There was one way to
find out for certain.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Willow?" Giles said, thinking that the red hair belonged to her. That's when the girl sat up
wide eyed and stared at him. "You're not Willow," he said, his confusion starting to be
overpowered by his curiosity.

She blinked and tentatively said "Tony?" The expression on his face must have told her that
it wasn't his name, since she then said, "Guess not, huh?" He was now starting to feel a
little annoyed at this intruder.

"Who, may I ask, are you, and how did you get here?" He could feel some magic coming from her
and was still not completely sure she was harmless.

She looked a little awestruck as she replied "M-my name is Sarah and, um, I-I'm not sure you
would believe me if I told you."

He looked at her a little closer and realized that his first estimate of her age was not quite
right, for he could see she was older than the girl he thought she was at first. Not by much
he figured, but he could see a few strands of grey in with her red hair, which was also slightly
different in tone than Willow's, a little lighter. "Try me." he said, with a wry grin.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sarah thought about it for a minute. 'With everything he's seen, he just might believe me.'
"Ok. Here goes." she said aloud. "I was at home trying to astral project to my brother's house
and the next thing I know I'm here. I feel like I'm in a Robert Heinlein story, since I might be
from an alternate reality because I think know who you are, and where I'm from you're a
fictional character and do you have anything I could wear because like in the Muffy Birmbaum
stories my clothes didn't make the trip with me and I'm really embarrassed and as soon as I
figure out how to get home I'll be out of your hair." It all came out in a rush as she realized
how absurd it sounded out loud. Too her surprise however, he didn't laugh, not much anyway.

"Surprisingly enough, I do believe you."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giles listened to her rush of words and hearing how embarrassed and somewhat scared she really
was, he couldn't help but laugh a little as he realized she really believed what she was saying,
"Surprisingly enough, I do believe you."
At the moment the phone rang. He answered it and heard Wendy's frantic voice on the other end.

" Rupert, are you all right? What happened?!"

He smiled as he remembered what the message he left must have sounded like. "I'm fine Wendy.
It's a bit complicated to explain over the phone, so why don't you collect Ian and come over.
Oh, and bring some clothes with you. See you when you get here."

There was silence on the other end for a moment and then the woman purred, " Why Rupert,
you naughty thing,Ian too?" and chuckled.

Giles smiled some more and said, "Not what you want to think my dear. I have a visitor who is
in need of some things...not for that reason either... and you're about her size, so I would
consider it a favour."

"You'll owe me one...hmm."

"I'll see you when you get here." Giles chuckled and hung up the phone. Turning to his guest
he said. "Start at the beginning and give me all the details you can think of, then we'll see
about getting you home."

End part one.
